In some respects, it was fundamentally broken. Out of control demand led pricing led to sub-standard product quality control, over pricing and supply chain fluctuations. The net result were shortages where PPE was most needed and long-term supply uncertainty. 

International raw material and manufacturing process capacity was increasingly being influenced unduly by highest price bidding and was also causing healthcare system PPE supply interruption. In addition, with erratic quality control standards adherence in some markets; buyers were becoming unsure if established safety standards were being met. 

The Pharmamask team decided to make a significant production line engineering investment to build a new production facility in the UK that had quality standards as central to its value proposition and decided to co-produce with an established packaging and distribution partner (PrimePac Ltd) in Ebbw Vale, South Wales.
